Rakuten Group offers more than 70 diverse services, including the online shopping mall Rakuten Ichiba, e-commerce services such as the travel booking site Rakuten Travel, financial services such as Rakuten Bank, and professional sports.
Department Overview
The assignment will be to the Procurement Operations Department, Rakuten Group, Inc. The Procurement Operations Department is responsible for procurement operations across the entire Rakuten Group. Within this department, the Global Sourcing Section serves as the centralized function for company-wide sourcing, collaborating with business divisions to select and negotiate with suppliers.
We have set up "Technical Services Sourcing Category team" and "Indirect & Services Category Management team" under Global Sourcing Section to promote centralized Service Category Procurement sourcing.
The Technical Services Sourcing primarily includes, but is not limited to the following services:
- Professional Services (i.e. scope based orders for software development, telecom network architecture design, network planning services, testing and validation activities for network equipment or software etc.)
- Managed Services (includes performing of services for for on demand support, monitoring and trouble-shooting of legacy systems etc.)
- Time and Material based resource augmentation based spends
- Annual Maintenance Services for Network Infrastructure and Other Assets
Commodity goods and services essential for conducting Rakuten Group business activities.

Mandatory Qualifications
- More than 3years experience in Purchasing or Procurement function
- Japanese Language Capability (Native or JPLT N1)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Technical Services Category or Indirect Category Procurement
- Experience in Contract negotiation and RFP/RFQ
- Experience in Global Procurement
- Experience in Telecom domain/industry
- Individuals with a TOEIC score of 800 or higher
