Duties include engineering review, permitting, inspections, enforcement, training and implementation of the statewide Dam Safety Program policies, strategies and rules designed to protect the people and environment of North Carolina from improper operation, maintenance, or failure of a regulated dam.

This position is tasked to be the primary engineering technical assistant to the State Dam Safety Engineer with management of the state regulatory program responsible for more than 3,000 regulated dams in North Carolina.

This will also require the position to organize and coordinate technical training and professional development within the program and with Regional Office staff, participate in planning and budgeting for the program, and FEMA Grant administration.
