Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Math Teacher to join our team at JPS Middle School At Parkside.

The ideal candidate will foster a positive learning environment, inspire students to develop a love for mathematics, and promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

The Math Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons, assessing student progress, and collaborating with colleagues to enhance the educational experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines.
• Teach a variety of mathematical concepts, including but not limited to algebra, geometry, and statistics, to middle school students.
• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a growth mindset.
• Assess and evaluate student performance through regular quizzes, tests, and assignments, providing timely feedback to promote improvement.
• Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to enhance student learning and engagement.
• Collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement schoolwide initiatives and programs.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians regarding academic progress and behavioral issues.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in mathematics education.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and other relevant documentation.
• Supervise students during lunch, recess, and other school activities as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification or license in Mathematics for middle school.
• Proven experience as a Math Teacher or in a similar educational role preferred.
• Strong knowledge of middle school mathematics curriculum and instructional best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and staff.
• Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students.
