WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for engineers who are passionate about commercializing and popularizing cutting-edge technologies under research.

You are expected to have practical experience and in-depth knowledge of software development, and to think, design, and implement software with high performance and high quality together with your colleagues.

You will report to the lead of the sub-function. The work style is hybrid (remote and office).

Business trips may be required for evaluations, experiments, and similar activities. (4 days per month on average)

Responsibilities
You will contribute to the end-to-end development of a voice-based dialogue system for an AI agent. The goal is to create real products for vehicle edge devices.

・Design, develop, and improve dialogue processing pipelines for a real-time conversational agent

・Collaborate with researcher(s) to expand prototype models into production-ready systems

・Optimize and accelerate components related to speech processing (ASR/NLP/TTS, signal processing, etc.)

・Monitor performance and iteratively improve using real-world data from actual execution environments (edge device, OS, network conditions)

・Improve user experience and system quality during the operation phase, including monitoring and metrics

・Contribute to code review, configuration management, release processes, and cross‑team collaboration

Minimum Qualifications
・Practical experience in designing and developing conversational systems using Japanese and English

Experience in designing any of the multi-turn dialogue logic types listed below

・Interpretation of utterances including context dependency and ellipsis

・Resolution of ambiguous expressions

・Improvement of intent understanding and personalisation using conversation history

・Design decisions regarding addressee determination

・Experience in designing and implementing LLM/NLP systems under strict real-time constraints

・Experience in realising intent detection, dialogue state management, and confidence-based fallback processing in a scalable and low-latency manner

・Ability to perform work in Japanese and English Must meet one of the following

・English: Business level / Japanese: Daily conversation level or above

・Japanese: Business level / English: Daily conversation level or above

NICE TO HAVES

• Experience in developing and operating dialogue systems in environments with computational resource constraints, unstable connections, and safety requirements (embedded, edge, in-vehicle, etc.)
• Experience in gradually improving behaviour through rule adjustments and model updates while maintaining the consistency of existing systems
• Particularly experience designing with context understanding and natural turn-taking in mind
• Experience collaborating with multiple roles (engineers, researchers, product managers, etc.) to deliver production-quality systems
