This is a full-time, on-site role based in Fujisawa, Kanagawa or Hino, Tokyo, with the position level determined by experience.
We are seeking talented scientists and leaders to join our Screening Unit, supporting drug discovery programs for global pharmaceutical and biotechnology partners.
You will work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, contributing directly to hit identification and lead generation through high-quality screening operations and assay development.
Key ResponsibilitiesDepending on experience and role level, responsibilities may include:
Design, development, and execution of biochemical and cell-based assays
Operation and optimization of high-throughput screening (HTS) and medium-throughput assays
Data analysis, quality control, and interpretation to support hit and lead identification
Collaboration with a wide range of cross-functional teams, spanning scientific, project, and business functions
Preparation of technical reports and communication of results to internal and external stakeholders
(For senior roles) Project leadership, team management, resource planning, and mentoring of junior staff
【Qualifications】

Required / Preferred Background
MSc or PhD in Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, or a related field
Hands-on experience in assay development, screening, or biological evaluation
Solid understanding of experimental design and data quality
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Additional Expectations for Senior / Management Roles
Proven experience leading screening projects or teams
Ability to manage timelines, resources, and stakeholder expectations
Experience interacting directly with both domestic and international clients or partners, including communication in English
Mentorship and people development experience
