lectrical Connector and Wire Harness Design Engineer
Overview
A full-service solutions provider in the outdoor equipment and recreational vehicle industry is seeking an experienced Electrical Connector and Wire Harness Design Engineer. We welcome candidates who are eager to take on new challenges and advance their careers.
Responsibilities
- Create and develop electrical connector designs that meet specified requirements
- Use CAD software (e.g., ZUKEN, Creo) to develop detailed wire harness designs, including schematics and layout drawings
- Establish and maintain specifications and design standards for wire harnesses, including materials, connectors, terminals, and protective sleeves
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards and regulations such as UL, IEC, and RoHS, and follow quality and safety guidelines
- Provide instructions to suppliers for sourcing appropriate materials and components for wiring assemblies
- Lead design reviews and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and reduce costs
- Analyze test data, identify potential risks, and recommend design improvements to development teams
- Collaborate closely with international engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless implementation of wire harness designs
- Work with quality assurance teams to comply with industry standards such as ISO and IPC
Required Skills & Experience
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering
- 8+ years of experience in designing electrical connectors, wire harnesses, and related components
- Proven expertise in electrical engineering principles and connector technologies
- Experience with connector design for signal and power applications, including wire-to-wire and wire-to-board configurations
- Demonstrated success in completing product design projects from concept through production
- Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional team environments
- Willingness to travel internationally
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., ZUKEN, Creo)
- Advanced communication skills in English (both written and spoken)
