The ARM Group is hiring for a
"Software Engineer – Backend"
with one of our clients in
Tokyo, Japan

In this role, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of our Warehouse Management System (WMS) and its companion Handy Terminal device — both key products within our advanced logistics technology suite. These systems are built to seamlessly integrate with our cutting-edge ASRS solutions, driving operational efficiency across modern warehouses.

You will play a crucial part in designing and maintaining a scalable, high-performance backend architecture used across multiple deployments. We value strong technical expertise, collaboration, and a proactive approach to engineering challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend components that optimize supply chain and warehouse operations
• Improve code quality through enhanced testing, automation, and best engineering practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to deliver integrated and effective solutions

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years of professional experience working with Python (3.10 or above)
• Hands-on experience with modern backend frameworks such as FastAPI or Django
• Solid understanding of SQL and database design, ideally with PostgreSQL
• Proficiency in testing and automation tools (pytest, GitHub Actions, Docker)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with NoSQL technologies (e.g., Redis)
• Familiarity with asynchronous development (asyncio) or messaging systems
• Strong ability to articulate and justify technical decisions
• Experience presenting at engineering events or contributing to open-source projects
• Knowledge of logistics, WMS workflows, or supply chain systems
