Key partnerships are built with business leaders, specifically GM Japan and the Japan Leadership Team/Japan Executive Committee. The HRBP Agile Japan Head serves as a liaison for CSL Japan based legal entities to develop an HR operational plan that aligns with CSL's One HR imperatives and drives business results.
The position holder creates and implements people solutions, Human Resources corporate policy/practices, and day-to-day management processes that drive forward business outcomes and contribute to an exceptional employee experience.
The HRBP Agile Japan Head fosters an engaging work environment and acts as an HR ambassador by defining and communicating a compelling and values-based work culture.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Develops the HR operational plan in alignment with Strategic HRBP guidance and the One HR strategic imperatives.
- Serves as an HR liaison for areas including talent management, employment, employee engagement, change management, organizational design and development, employee relations, compensation, benefits, diversity and inclusion, and/or training, coaching and development, and workforce planning.
- Buils relationships with site leadership and client groups to reinforce and deliver on HR's position as a trusted advisor to the business.
- Partners with assigned client groups/site to understand business needs and objectives and resolves HR and business issues through organizational effectiveness and employee life cycle.
- Drives the implementation of corporate policy and practices related to human resources and supports organization and employee development.
- Develops succession plans and talent pipelines for site leadership teams (or client groups) in collaboration with Strategic HRBPs.
- Designs site approaches to performance, DEI, and culture through local programs that drive engagement and employee experience.
- Sets proactive strategies for local industrial relations and collective negotiations (where applicable) in consultation with the Regional IR Lead.
- Provides employees and managers with insights towards talent pipeline development and delivers people processes, programs, and initiatives for designated client groups/site.
- Supports customer group leaders with cyclical processes such as IPM, annual merit review, engagement surveys, and subsequent action plans.
- Acts as a change ambassador and facilitates workshops as required.
- Develops new concepts to solve business challenges and uses data analytics to share insights and trends.
- Provides expertise as an HRBP Agile team member and builds expertise in different areas of focus: talent & development, change management, industrial relations, organizational design.
- Supports or leads cross-country, cross-functional projects, transformation activities, or additional initiatives as required.
- Leads/supports complex employee relations issues working closely with the global ER team.
Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in HR leadership roles is preferred.
- 8-10 years of HR management experience, preferably in senior human resources business partnering or HR business consultant roles, working in dynamic global organizations.
- Deep knowledge of HR processes gained in a dynamic global organization.
- BA/BS degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or a related field is required.
- IT skills: Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Outlook, Word, PPT is required.
- Language: English and Japanese business proficiency (writing, speaking) is required.
- Versed in agile organization/ways of working is preferred.
