About the Role
We are looking for a Machine Learning Application Engineer to support customers in Japan as they tackle some of the most complex engineering challenges across industries such as automotive, aerospace, and energy.
In this role, you will work closely with engineering and design teams, gaining a deep understanding of their workflows and challenges, and helping them adopt advanced machine learning solutions to accelerate product development.
By leveraging cutting-edge 3D deep learning and engineering intelligence, you will directly impact how products are designed, simulated, and optimized.
This position sits at the intersection of engineering and AI, offering the opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders and contribute to the evolution of modern product design workflows.
Lead and deliver projects in close collaboration with customer engineering teams
Analyze and process engineering data using internal platforms and Python-based tools
Apply machine learning and deep learning workflows to engineering and physics problems
Build proofs of concept demonstrating value in CAD, CAE, and manufacturing use cases
Train customer teams to successfully adopt AI-driven methods into their workflows
Work closely with software and product teams to translate customer feedback into product improvements
Who You Are
Passionate about applying machine learning to real-world engineering challenges
Hold a Master's or PhD in Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Physics
Have a strong understanding of both engineering fundamentals and machine learning (required)
Highly proficient in Python, with hands-on experience using ML/DL frameworks (required)
Experienced with simulation; background in CAD / CAE (CFD, FEM, etc.) is a plus
Comfortable explaining complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences
Enjoy customer-facing work and collaborating with diverse teams
Fluent in English and Japanese (native-level Japanese preferred)
