We are looking for an experienced AI Technical Expert to drive the design, development, and implementation of advanced Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) solutions that enhance customer experience, optimize operations, and strengthen risk management for our leading credit card customer in Japan.

The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong business understanding to transform data into actionable intelligence and support the company's digital transformation journey in Japan's financial services sector.

Job Responsibilities

• Design and implement AI/ML models for fraud detection, credit scoring, customer segmentation, operations & personalized marketing.
• Develop machine learning pipelines and deploy models into production environments using scalable frameworks
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify AI opportunities and translate business needs into technical solutions across products & operations.
• Lead the end-to-end AI solution lifecycle – from data preparation and model training to deployment and monitoring in production environments.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies such as Generative AI, NLP, and Predictive Analytics for financial use cases.
• Ensure ethical and compliant AI usage in alignment with internal policies, data privacy laws, and Japanese regulatory guidelines.
• Provide technical mentorship and knowledge sharing to enhance internal AI capability across teams.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and IT infrastructure teams to maintain secure and responsible AI operations.

業務内容:

• 不正検出、信用スコアリング、顧客セグメンテーション、運用、パーソナライズマーケティングのためのAI/MLモデルを設計・実装をする。
• スケーラブルなフレームワークを用いて機械学習パイプラインを開発し、モデルを本番環境に導入する。
• 部門横断的なチームと連携し、AI活用の機会を特定し、ビジネスニーズを製品・運用全体にわたる技術ソリューションへと落とし込みをする。
• データ準備、モデルトレーニングから本番環境への導入・監視まで、エンドツーエンドのAIソリューションライフサイクルを主導する。
• 金融ユースケースにおける生成AI、自然言語処理(NLP)、予測分析などの新興AIテクノロジーを評価する。
• 社内ポリシー、データプライバシー法、および日本の規制ガイドラインに準拠した、倫理的かつコンプライアンスに準拠したAIの利用を確保する。
• チーム全体の社内AI能力を強化するために、技術指導と知識共有を提供する。
• サイバーセキュリティおよびITインフラストラクチャチームと連携し、安全で責任あるAI運用を維持する。

Requirements
Desired for the Position:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML model development and implementation, preferably within financial services or credit card industries.
• Hands-on experience in AI workflows and RAG integrations.
• Proficiency in Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, and data manipulation libraries.
• Strong understanding of data engineering, feature engineering, and data pipeline automation.
• Experience with cloud-based AI platforms (AWS SageMaker, Azure ML, or GCP Vertex AI).
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, supervised, unsupervised, and deep learning techniques.
• Proven experience in deploying AI models into production and monitoring model performance.
• Familiarity with Japanese financial regulations and data governance is a plus.
• Native Japanese level; English language skills are advantageous.

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong grasp of advanced ML/DL techniques, including NLP, computer vision, and reinforcement learning.
• Experience in Generative AI applications (e.g., LLMs for chatbots, document summarization, or code generation).
• Ability to design and implement MLOps pipelines for scalable and automated AI deployments.
• Knowledge of data governance, privacy regulations (APPI, GDPR), and ethical AI frameworks.
• Hands-on experience with GenAI platforms, development tools, Copilot and others.
• Hands-on experience with data visualization tools.
• Experience in credit card, banking, or fintech environments.
• Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in the Japanese financial sector.
• Native Business-level proficiency in Japanese; English language skills is a plus.
• Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to translate complex AI concepts into business value.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, especially in cross-functional and multicultural settings.
• Understanding of API integration for embedding AI services into enterprise systems.
