HTM is offering an exceptional opportunity to join our senior management team as Hotel Manager of Niseko Central—the largest collection of holiday accommodation in Niseko, comprising over 700 beds across premium condominiums, apartments and resort homes, all located in the heart of Hirafu.
As Hotel Manager, you will step into a well-established and systemised role at the helm of Niseko Central. You will lead a skilled and dedicated team through both the dynamic winter and summer seasons, ensuring the delivery of outstanding guest experiences. This is a pivotal position suited for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment and is passionate about service excellence.
You will work closely with HTM's executive leadership to shape the future of the Niseko Central experience, while receiving the support and training needed to succeed in the role. Your leadership will be instrumental in meeting the evolving expectations of our guests and maintaining the operational excellence that Niseko Central is known for.
The position is responsible for:
- Leading a small year-round team of staff, plus a team of winter seasonal staff.
- Maximising the operational efficiency of the Niseko Central operations.
- Ensuring that the Niseko Central department meet targets both in terms of Concierge sales and Guest satisfaction for both International and Japanese Guests.
- Ensuring booking procedures and systems are in place for winter and summer services.
- Deciding on the staffing requirements of the department.
- Recruitme staff, training and subsequent performance appraisals and development.
- Managing departmental expenditure and ensuring it is run to budget.
- Dealing with complaints and issues that have risen above front line and line manager levels.
The Hotel Manager oversees the Niseko Central Guest Services, Front Desk and Housekeeping departments. The position reports to the Group Operations Manager and works closely with other Managers in planning strategic direction of Niseko Central.
Skill requirements:
- Energetic and passionate with sound knowledge of Niseko and the ski travel industry.
- Experience leading a team within a hotel or holiday accommodation operation.
- Skills and experience in operations planning, forecasting, recruitment and budgeting.
- Problem solving skills and the ability to effectively resolve issues and develop processes and procedures to improve outcomes.
- Demonstrate the ability to lead and maximise performance of individuals and teams through effective communication of objectives and expectations, provision of effective feedback, recognition and coaching.
- Experience in service recovery and delivering process and systems changes that elevate future service delivery.
- Relationship management skills to develop new, and maintenance of existing, supplier relationships to ensure the delivery of services in accordance with contracts.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and reservations systems experience.
- Valid driver's license
Language requirements:
- As a first language, either native English OR native Japanese is essential.
- As a second language either Japanese OR English is very desirable.
- For further languages, Mandarin, Cantonese or other language skills are preferential.
Employment Period:
Ongoing full time year round
Contract Value:
¥7,500,000 to ¥11,000,000 depending on experience and language skills
(The above remuneration will be divided by 14 and paid monthly with two annual bonuses.)

Working Hours:
- Average 40 hours per week (shift times vary by season)
- 120 days off per year
- Sick leave: 5 days
- Annual paid leave: 20 days (after 6 months of employment)
