Job Description

Amazon Japan is seeking an Advanced Engineer to manage the construction of material handling equipment and automation equipment, verify operational capability, and start up new sort centers. This position will demonstrate technical leadership while working with Amazon's global team and domestic and international suppliers to maximize facility and process capability and quality while maintaining safety and cost balance.

Main Responsibilities:

• Realize the launch of fulfillment centers and sort centers based on mid-term and annual plans planned by Japanese operations.
• Quickly and accurately grasp the severity and impact of technical problems with equipment, and propose solutions that optimize overall safety, schedule, quality, and cost.
• Further improve existing communication channels and work processes, build relationships of trust with internal and external stakeholders, resolve conflicts, and manage to build consensus.
• Collaborate with global engineering teams to introduce new technology and processes to Japan to improve shipping and receiving capabilities and business efficiency.
• Assist in providing equipment specifications and technical support to procurement and other business partners for best value and competition.

Requirements:

• University Degree or Master's Degree in Engineering (or science/technology).
• 5+ years of technical leadership and project management experience in large-scale engineering projects, such as construction projects.
• Experience engaging with internal cross-functional teams and coordinating external partners.
• Verbal and written communication skills in both Japanese and English (Business-Level).
