Objectives/Purpose

  • Understand HR business requirements and strategic needs to streamline HR processes and build systems for utilizing HR data efficiently.
  • Create systems that can adapt promptly to changing HR business needs due to internal and external factors.
  • Address HR business requirements by leveraging a global platform to the maximum extent possible.
  • Actively utilize the latest digital technologies to enhance the efficiency of HR processes.
  • Execute all tasks necessary for system development, from planning to implementation, to achieve the desired objectives.

Accountabilities

  • Understand HR business requirements and define system requirements.
  • Ensure the availability of resources required to implement requirements.
  • Explain requirements to application maintenance and development team members and manage design, development, and testing.
  • Plan and conduct system tests after the design and development phases.
  • Lead the planning and implementation of user acceptance tests after system testing.
  • Proactively leverage data and digital technologies to streamline HR processes and optimize resource utilization.
  • Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts and maintenance vendors to lead in problem resolution.

Education, Behavioral Competencies and Skills

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in developing and operating HR systems
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, including experience working with global stakeholders and conducting business in English independently
  • Experience in HR application development, including requirements definition, design, development, testing, and operation
  • Experience in developing interfaces to extract HR data
  • Experience in project planning, proposal, project management, and vendor management
  • Experience as a project manager in HR system and business application development
  • Experience in budgeting and cost management of projects
  • Demonstrated skills in cross-functional leadership to ensure successful solution delivery
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills with business insights
  • Skills in business relationship management and connecting with local management and stakeholders in the field
  • Ability to work with diverse virtual teams and adapt to different experiences, expertise, cultures, and communication styles
  • Basic knowledge of IT infrastructure (networks, servers, security, etc.)

Preferred:

  • Master's degree
  • Experience in managing HR applications ex. Workday, LYSITHEA
  • Fundamental knowledge of corporate functions (e.g., Finance)
  • Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and previous experience in system development and operation within this sector
  • Experience with cutting-edge digital technologies such as AI or RPA
  • Experience in data analysis using tools like DataBricks, BI
  • Experience in building and operating interface programs using ETL tools like Informatica
  • Experience in system development and operation using job management systems like Tidal
  • Experience in business process analysis using techniques like process mining
  • Deep knowledge of the Power platform and using technology to enhance business processes

  • Working Hours: Headquarters (Osaka/Tokyo) 9:00-17:30, Production Sites (Osaka/Yamaguchi) 8:00-16:45, (Narita) 8:30-17:15, Research Site (Kanagawa) 9:00-17:45
