Associate Director of Events

The Associate Director of Events will support the Director of Sales & Marketing, Director of Sales, and Director of Events in directing and coordinating all event sales/planning activities.

They will work closely with the Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef, Director of Event Service, and other relevant colleagues on all menu planning and event execution matters.

The Associate Director of Events will assist the Director of Sales & Marketing, Director of Sales, and Director of Events in reviewing and evaluating the effectiveness of selling activities and adjusting as necessary to achieve or exceed the objectives outlined in the Annual Business Plan.

They will also encourage colleagues to be creative and innovative, pursue experimentation, and recognize their contributions to the success of the operation.

Through hands-on management, the Associate Director of Events will supervise closely all Event Planning associates in the performance of their duties in accordance with hotel standards, policies, and procedures, and applicable laws.

They will handle all guest and internal customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, following through to ensure problems are resolved.

Requirements:

At least 3 years of experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in event sales, event planning, catering, and accommodation-related fields.

Minimum 1 year of management experience.

Proficient in speaking, writing, and reading both business English and Japanese.

Prior experience at a luxury hotel or MICE hotel is preferred.

Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
