Here, language isn't taught from textbooks—it's lived. We believe English is the key that opens doors, so we built an environment where "Mates" and "members" can meet, talk, and grow together. Our English conversation cafés are about inclusivity, comfort, and community.

Your role as a Mate:

  • Lead small-group conversations in English
  • Encourage members to share their stories and improve naturally
  • Support events that celebrate cultural exchange
  • Use our apps to manage simple operations
  • Cover at least 3 shifts a week (in person + online)

We don't ask for formal teaching experience. What we're looking for is energy, curiosity, and a love of communication. If that's you, we'd love to meet you.

LanCul has been in the English Cafe business since 2012 and has expanded to over a dozen branches across Tokyo, Yokohama and Osaka.

And now, we are opening up our newest branch in Fukuoka

Our company's aim is to create a community of confident English speakers through language and cultural exchange. Our services include group conversations in cafes/online, one-on-one conversations, hangouts, international parties, online English learning platforms through our mobile application, etc. By showing our members that they can have a good time talking, learning new knowledge about the world around them, making lifelong connections with others while improving their English skill in the process, we are highlighting that one does not always have to follow the "normal", "common" path to achieve most things. Qualifications

  • Fluent English speaker (can be non-native).
  • Able to lead a conversation on various topics.
  • Able to interact and engage with various kinds of people.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Strong sense of responsibility.
  • Flexible, adaptive and open to new ideas in an innovative environment.
  • Work Visa valid for at least 6 months.
  • Must have a working smart phone with a data plan. (laptop and Zoom account for online shifts)

勤務時間・曜日:

We are specifically looking for candidates that can work online and in our Fukuoka cafe/branch:

Online: conduct English sessions through Zoom

  • Every shift will be 2 hours
  • 10min break for every 50min session
  • Shifts available Monday to Sunday

Cafe: conduct English sessions in the cafe

  • Max working hours: 3 hours/ day; 4 days/ week
  • Open only during week days
  • 10min break for every 50min session

Contract type: Entrustment agreement

待遇・福利厚生:

Compensation & Incentives:

The starting salary for a Part-Time Mate is 1,020 yen per session (50minutes).

Salary can be increased at regular intervals, based on time and performance; up to 1,500 yen per session.

In addition, LanCul offers an attractive and flexible incentive system:

  • With your commitment to the schedule and many members joining your sessions you can receive 3,000; 5,000 or 10,000 yen incentive.
  • Being active and engaging in our social media community can earn you incentives of 3,000 and 2,000 yen
  • Referral bonus: If we hire someone you recommend to LanCul, you will receive a bonus of 5,000 yen (for part-time) and 10,000 (full-time).
  • Transportation allowance of 800yen/day; 10,000 yen/month.
  • Visa sponsorship possible with commitment to the company
