Job Summary

The Senior Legal Counsel will focus on RWE Renewables' Japanese offshore wind projects, providing legal advice and support to the business.

About the Role

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing legal advice to RWE's offshore wind project development team on national and international legislation relating to seabed, seabed allocation, subsidy, and offtake regulations.
  • Negotiating grid connection related agreements and advising in case of disruption of the grid connection.
  • Developing and assessing permitting strategies from a legal point of view and overseeing project development legal paths.
  • Handling permitting procedures and supervising obtaining consents.

About You

We are looking for someone with:

  • A law degree from a reputable institution in Japan and eligibility to be admitted to the local bar.
  • Thorough expertise in one or more of the following areas: Renewable Energy Regulatory matters, Permitting, Planning, Consenting, Real Estate, Infrastructure Projects, or Environmental Law.
  • At least 5 years of work experience in an energy practice group in an international law firm or company, preferably in the renewables energy sector.

Salary

Please note that we cannot disclose the exact salary range without further discussion. However, based on industry standards and your level of experience, we would expect the salary to be around ¥10 million per annum plus benefits.
