The IUC Summer Program focuses on advanced spoken Japanese, aiming for natural, correct, and appropriate expression of thoughts and opinions.
More Information:
To qualify for admission, an applicant must (1) demonstrate a clear intent to pursue a professional or academic career requiring the use of Japanese; and (2) have successfully completed two to three years of college-level instruction.
In terms of actual language proficiency, successful applicants are expected to have a solid foundation in the fundamental structures of Japanese, to have mastered both kana syllabaries, and to be able to read and write approximately 500–700 kanji.
