HR Manager
Purpose / Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned Human Resources Manager to serve as a key person for HR project in Japan. This role will be responsible for leading a HR integration& change project in the region, playing a critical part in the company's internationalization. The ideal candidate is an experienced HR professional with deep expertise in Japanese labor law, union relations and business culture, coupled with exceptional change management skills to support teams through complex phases of business growth.
Your Impact in This Role
In this position, you'll be at the heart of our HR Project in Japan, driving tangible results through:
1. Integration & Change Leadership:
- Develop and execute the HR integration project, aligning people strategies with business objectives.
- Provide expert HR guidance and solutions within a complex, fast-changing business environment.
- Lead change management project, including communication, salary structure, and support, to minimize disruption and facilitate a smooth transition for employees.
- Analyze existing HR processes and policies to identify opportunities for optimization, enhancing organizational effectiveness and employee experience.
2. Organizational Effectiveness & Change Management:
- Design and lead organizational development initiatives to ensure the structure effectively supports future business needs.
- Ensure smooth implementation of key initiatives by orchestrating change management plans, communicating clearly, and supporting teams throughout the process.
- Foster cross-cultural communication and collaboration, acting as a cultural bridge between global headquarters and the Japan team.
3. Labor Relations & Union Management:
- Develop the comprehensive strategy for all engagements with Japanese labor unions, ensuring alignment with overall integration goals and legal requirements
- Act as the primary internal expert and advisor to the local Japanese management team, preparing and supporting them for all communications and negotiations with union representatives.
- Lead negotiations regarding any changes to terms and conditions of employment, integration of HR policies, and other matters arising from the transaction
- Build trust-based relationships with union representatives to ensure collaborative problem-solving and maintain industrial peace.
What We're Looking For
Must-Have Qualifications:
- Education:
Bachelor's degree and above - Experience:
Minimum of 15 years of broad HR experience, including a role as an HR Business Partner or HR Lead for a multinational corporation's subsidiary in Japan. - Language:
Native-level business proficiency in Japanese (verbal and written). Full professional proficiency in English.
This is a mandatory requirement. - Knowledge:
Deep, practical understanding of
Japanese labor law, union relations, salary structure, grade management, and business culture. - Skills:
Proven experience successfully leading
large-scale organizational change, transformation, or integration projects
in complex environments. Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.
Nice-to-Have Advantages:
- Experience supporting companies through scaling phases from startup to growth, or expansion via M&A.
- Relevant experience within the electronic or sensor sector.
- HR certifications such as SHRM, CIPD, or local Japanese qualifications.
