  • Purpose & Scope: The Takahagi Technical Center is a key location for Astellas Pharma's chemical synthesis raw materials, working closely with research institutes to develop process methods and tests for new drug candidates, as well as to smoothly launch new products for stable supply. Maintaining and managing facilities is crucial for achieving stable supply of these raw materials, requiring individuals with a strong sense of mission for pharmaceutical manufacturing and a commitment to further technological advancement to continue supplying safe and reliable medicines to patients.
  • Essential Job Responsibilities:
    • Immediate responsibilities as a Chief Electrical Engineer
    • Repair and maintenance of electrical facilities (distribution boards, substations)
    • Renewal of electrical facilities, including design, specifications, ordering, contractor management, construction management, operational confirmation, and inspection
    • Repair and maintenance of chemical synthesis plant equipment
    • Renewal of chemical synthesis plant equipment, including design, specifications, ordering, contractor management, construction management, operational confirmation, and inspection
    • Documentation for various standards such as GEP, GMP, OHSMS, and EMS
  • Organizational Context: The Takahagi Technical Center, located in the northeastern part of Ibaraki Prefecture in Takahagi City, began operations as a raw drug production facility for medical pharmaceuticals in 1974. In collaboration with the Synthetic Technology Research Institute and the Development Drug Manufacturing Facility, the center has initiated the development of manufacturing methods and test methods in parallel with the production of investigational drugs, launching many new products to date. As Astellas Group's center for synthetic leads, close cooperation with the Drug Discovery Technology Research Institute, Raw Drug Research Institute, and Physical Property Research Institute is maintained to deliver new medicines eagerly awaited by patients and ensure high-quality pharmaceuticals reach a global audience, constantly striving to enhance technical capabilities with a strong sense of mission.
  • Specific Physical or Environmental Requirements: Employment will be in Takahagi City, Ibaraki Prefecture, with the possibility of domestic and international business trips as needed.
  • Qualifications:
    • Experience in engineering (equipment design, maintenance management) in a manufacturing facility as an immediate asset
    • Class 3 Electrician Certification
    • Practical experience as a Chief Electrical Engineer
    • Class 2 Electrical Worker Certification or higher
    • Bachelor's degree or above
    • Proficiency in handling measuring instruments (voltmeters, testers, clamp meters, insulation resistance testers, etc.)
    • Comparison of electrical drawings with actual equipment
    • Disconnection work
    • Operation of high-voltage equipment panels (breakers, voltage, current meters), recovery of SW relay, digital multimeter, restoration of leakage breaker, and thermal relay
    • Teamwork is essential, enabling faster task acquisition through effective communication with colleagues and stakeholders. Further details can be discussed during interviews.
