Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Release Train Engineer (RTE) with strong DevOps acumen to lead, orchestrate, and improve the delivery of complex, cross-functional initiatives across multiple teams. This role is critical in enabling seamless, and scalable delivery pipelines that accelerate business value. As a leader and delivery catalyst, the RTE will drive execution, remove roadblocks, manage dependencies, and embed DevOps best practices across the Program Increment (PI) lifecycle, ensuring our technology platforms are deployed with speed, quality, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
Program Increment (PI) Planning & Delivery

• Lead Planning: Drive strategic alignment between engineering teams, business stakeholders, and product leadership. Facilitate planning events that prioritize delivery and enable continuous integration and deployment
• Dependency & Risk Management: Proactively identify, track, and resolve inter-team and system dependencies that could impede delivery. Anticipate risks and implement mitigation strategies that protect release timelines
• Impediment Removal: Drive flow by quickly addressing blockers, technical, organizational, or process-related, that impact velocity or platform readiness
• Progress Monitoring & Continuous Improvement: Leverage metrics such as lead time, deployment frequency, and defect rates to monitor delivery health. Drive retrospectives and improvement plans focused on increasing delivery quality, value, reliability, and outcomes
• System Demos & Feedback Loops: Plan and facilitate PI system demos that showcase integrated functionality, enabling stakeholder feedback and improvement
• Inspect & Adapt: Lead end of PI retrospectives to analyze performance, identify systemic bottlenecks, and champion continuous improvement in CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and team delivery practices.

DevOps Enablement & Engineering Collaboration

• Pipeline Orchestration: Partner with platform engineering, infrastructure, and other teams to ensure teams leverage automated build, test, and deployment pipelines aligned with DevOps best practices where and when available
• Release Governance: Coordinate release readiness reviews, production deployment strategies, rollback plans, and environment provisioning to ensure safe and predictable delivery

Team Support & Leadership

• Coaching & Mentorship: Guide Scrum Masters, Project Managers, Product Owners, and engineering leads in delivery methodology (Agile/Waterfall) and DevOps principles, improving delivery maturity and cross-team collaboration
• Collaboration & Communication: Foster a culture of strong collaboration. Act as a communication bridge between teams and leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment
• Emergency Response: Coordinate responses to critical incidents, production issues, or release failures, driving resolution and postmortem improvements

Key Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Release Train Engineer, Delivery Manager, or Agile Program Manager in a DevOps or platform engineering environment.
• Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, containerization, cloud-native architectures, and automated testing practices.
• Experience facilitating PI planning, managing complex cross-team dependencies, and delivering at scale in a SAFe or large-scale Agile environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to coach teams and influence outcomes across engineering, operations, and business functions.
• Familiarity with tools such as Jira, SmartSheet, GitLab CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
