Department Overview
When you see the word "Rakuten", you probably have an image of many e-commerce-related services such as "Rakuten Ichiba", "Rakuten Books", and "Rakuten Fashion".

If you order items from these services, it is commonplace every day that the items will be delivered to your home. So, where and how are these items managed, how are they boxed, shipped, and delivered to your home? In fact, these parts that you cannot directly see are the scope of responsibility of EC logistics, which we are in charge of.

We operate a number of warehouses in Japan where we store and manage Rakuten Books, Rakuten Fashion, and Rakuten Direct items, and perform tasks such as receiving and shipping. In addition, we have developed a service called "Rakuten Super Logistics" and receive items from merchants in Rakuten Ichiba, and we also do item-related work on behalf of them.

What is necessary for the series of operations in this warehouse is the system developed by the EC Logistics Development Department. If our system stops, items purchased through e-commerce will not be delivered, and the only direct contact with customers is "logistics (delivery)". Logistics has a strong impression of being behind the scenes, but it plays such an important role.

In addition, while managing these systems close to the "site (warehouse)", the control of the "estimated delivery date" displayed on Rakuten Ichiba, the "delivery status display" from the purchase history on Rakuten Ichiba, and the "delivery related notification" are also part of the system that our department is in charge of.

In this way, we, the EC Logistics Development Department, develop and operate the "logistics" that support the Rakuten Group and the "systems" that support it in general.

ECLD's Mission

• To realize a service that allows shoppers to get "what you want" "when you want it" and "where you want it" by utilizing logistics and IT.

Position
Position Details
In the system development department of the Rakuten Group, such as logistics-related services and logistics-related information (data and API) provision services, you will be in charge of overall management of projects, products, quality, costs, personnel, etc. for the systems you are responsible for, while demonstrating leadership as a Section Manager.

• As a Senior Manager, you will be actively involved in determining the direction of the project and product, and will manage the section responsibly from the perspective of QCD.
• Promote cooperation and negotiations with other companies with which we have a cooperative relationship and other departments within the company, and strive to provide better output quickly.
• Consult with the members in charge of the business, prioritize tasks from planning to development, and take responsibility for service launch.
• Develop next generation leaders through recruitment and education to improve the productivity of the entire team.
• Manage the budget of the section to be managed and the status of its execution, and respond to internal requirements and submit reports.

Mandatory Qualifications

• More than 10 years of software development experience.
• At least 5 years of product management or project management experience.
• More than 5 years of experience in people management.
• Experience managing more than 3 managers and leaders.
• Ability and passion to commit to a project.
• Communication skills and flexible response skills that can negotiate with stakeholders.
• Ability to always think about maximizing customer satisfaction and clearly define product vision.
• Ability to research and adopt appropriate technologies and deliver innovative items.
• Ability to respond to unexpected accidents and system troubles.
• Experience in budget management.
• Business-level Japanese proficiency.
• TOEIC Score 800 above or possess equivalent abilities.

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of the logistics industry.
• Experience in providing E-Commerce services (B2C, C2C, B2B2C).
• Business level English proficiency.
