ASSET MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS
We provide customized service to our clients and enable our business to grow the Asset Management franchise across traditional and alternative products. Our teams execute within a front to back operating model, delivering support across the client, product, and investment lifecycle. We also conduct risk oversight, provide change management, business intelligence, and market solutions for the division.

Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted function that partners with all parts of the firm to provide banking, securities, and asset management services to clients around the world. In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and controls to preserve and enhance the firm's assets and its reputation. For every new product launched and every trade executed, it is Operations that develops and manages the processes and controls that enable business flow.

YOUR IMPACT
The Asset Wealth Management Alternatives Private Real Estate Portfolio Services is seeking a professional to partner with teams across the firm as well as our bank relationships to maximize commercial and operational value and support the settlement function for the alternatives business within Goldman Sachs Asset & Wealth Management.

This is a diverse role that entails collaboration with the business and agent banks to manage bank accounts and further partner with Engineering, Controllers, and teams across Operations to cash manage and facilitate a business that is multi-asset, dynamic and bespoke.

Asset classes include Real Estate, Private Securities, and Loans. The successful individual will be expected to be commercial, analytical & creative whilst ensuring strong bank relations and maintain the highest level of risk management .

OUR IMPACT
The Alternatives Private Real Estate Portfolio Services member will be responsible for managing strategic relationships with agent banks vendors; establish, enhance and maintain these relationships to derive the maximum commercial and operational value for the division; develop creative industry solutions while ensuring the highest level of service quality and risk management.

The broader team are subject matter experts within Operations who play a critical role in settling deal-related transactions and processing various payments in multiple settlement systems in the Asia region. Members ensure that daily operation of cash management of our multiple entities adheres to GS control standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Gain an in-depth & comprehensive understanding of bespoke alternative product structures and its funding flows.
  • Partner with the Business, Federation, and external parties to provide subject matter and system knowledge expertise for optimal bank account management and seamless deal settlement.
  • Contribute to the division's commercial and operational strategic goals by proactively managing external agent bank relationships.
  • Further expand and deepen relationship management skillsets by managing (including open/maintain/close) entities' cash and securities bank accounts, completing onboarding and periodic Know Your Customer (KYC) Due Diligence processes, and performing bank account dormancy reviews by partnering with agent banks and the business units to determine eligibility.
  • Leverage your leadership skills to collaborate with internal stakeholders to progress industry and regulatory initiatives and evaluate new business proposals to assess impact to account management requirements with agent banks.
  • Showcase your attention to detail by ensuring accurate bank account inventory management, contributing to the overall settlement support from the team and performing risk assessments.
  • Ensure control measures are established to scrutinize bank account inventory, prevent any operational losses, identify cost saving op and review these measures constantly.
  • Leverage your analytical skills to assess payment risks and contribute to proposing optimal operational models.
  • Facilitate the business by providing solutions to urgent requests by showcasing your ability to drive issues and collaborate with multiple internal stakeholders and external Agent Banks in a fast-paced environment, while ensuring control standards are not compromised.

    Qualifications

  • Minium of 6 years of professional and relevant experience
  • Candidate must be comfortable in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem solving, communication, organizational and presentation skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong execution ability.
  • Ability to operate independently and effectively drive multiple business initiatives
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally
  • Self-motivated and proactive team player, who takes ownership and accountability of projects, has strong organizational skills as well as the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced team environment across multiple teams and regions.
  • Flexible and able to work well under pressure along with leading the team in the right direction.
  • Innate curiosity and drive.
  • Japanese language skills required.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in a settlement or Treasury function with basic knowledge about settlements.
  • Prior knowledge of Real Estate, private funds, Loans, and Equities preferred but not essential.
