Job Summary:
Provide technical support for the research and development of quantum computers, focusing on developing key hardware components required for quantum computing systems. We are looking at domains such MW and RF technologies, microfabrication and electronics, cryogenic systems, optics and photonics, vacuum technologies and electronics in general. Semiconductor engineers with deep experience in photolithography, interposers/packaging, laser-based fabrication such as selective laser etching and two-photon polymerization are also sought after.
Job Description (Responsibilities):
- Prototyping and evaluating new quantum device components
- Developing control systems for quantum hardware
- Maintaining experimental equipment
- Managing clean room infrastructure and devices
Required Qualifications:
- Practical experience in photolithography, interposer/package substrate design and fabrication.
- laser-based microfabrication with focus on laser selective etching, two-photon polymerization
- Hardware control engineers with rich experience in ARTIQ, FPGA, Laser sequence synchronization and control.
- UHV and cryogenic technology
- Electronics engineers
Required skills:
Experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Semiconductor microfabrication
- Clean room operations
- Design and construction of laser optical systems
- Analog circuit design and implementation
- Hands-on work with vacuum systems
- Design of integrated photonic waveguide circuits
- FPGA circuit design
Preferred Skills:
- Python programming
- Verilog development
- Experience with cryogenic experiments using cryostats
- Machining and welding
- Experience filing patents
- Team or project management experience
Experience:
- Management experience appropriate to the level of the position
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a STEM field (Master's degree preferred)

Design, implement and benchmark software stack that powers our ion trap quantum computers. Develop layered software interfaces for hardware control systems, including FPGAs and RFSoC. You will work closely with researchers to develop prototypes and implement algorithms that support our quantum computing efforts. This is an ideal opportunity to apply technical skills to real-world impacts in the early stages of a deep tech start-up.
