This role focuses on building and maintaining data systems that can grow with the business, supporting both internal teams and cross‑functional initiatives.
It also plays a key part in streamlining operations through automation.Using experience with data pipelines and large‑scale storage environments, the person in this position will work with various teams to enhance the company's analytical foundation and help address operational challenges.
Main responsibilitiesCreate robust, self‑service data tools that aid project work, reduce manual tasks, and speed up analysis
Partner with other technical groups to design and deliver pipelines that automate existing workflows
Work with current ETL processes and data lake structures to maintain and improve them
Investigate issues within the data warehouse, suggest enhancements, and assist other teams on specialised initiatives
Spot opportunities to improve performance across queries, tools, and ongoing projects
Continuously expand knowledge of new platforms, technologies, and best practices to introduce improved analytical approaches
Required background
Minimum five years' experience in roles involving analytical or data‑focused work (e.g., data engineering, BI, analytics, data science)
Strong capabilities in SQL, ETL practices, and dimensional design
Currently living in Japan
Preferred background
fluent English, coversational Japanese would also be a plus
Experience in online services such as e‑commerce
