We are looking for a Retail Finance Manager for a leading company in the retail industry in Tokyo. This role is vital for ensuring financial accuracy, aiding key decisions, and improving financial processes.
The successful candidate will have a strong grasp of finance, work well with different teams, and understand both local and international accounting standards.
This is a chance to grow and develop in a respected retail company, balancing strategic influence with hands-on management.Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports for internal teams and external auditors.
- Manage balance sheets and cash flow to keep the company financially strong.
- Implement strategies to manage financial risks and control costs.
- Oversee the procuretopay process for accurate financial reporting.
- Manage import charges and allocate them properly.
- Maintain contacts with banks and insurance firms.
- Analyze financial data to support strategic decisions.
- Create reports to spot financial risks and opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with local accounting standards (e.g., J-GAAP, IFRS) and company policies, including SOX requirements.
- Guide and mentor finance team members to improve efficiency.
- Support audit processes, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
- Lead improvements in financial operations and systems.
Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in multinational companies or startups with global reach.
- Experience in team management and process automation.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).
- Equivalent to Nissho Boki 2nd grade proficiency.
- At least 5 years of relevant finance experience.
- Expertise in ERP systems (D365, SAP, Oracle) and data visualization tools.
- Strong communication skills in Japanese and English.
- Strong leadership skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a fastpaced environment and collaborate with different teams.
