About this opportunity:
The Group Privacy Office within Group Function (GF) Legal Affairs & Compliance develop and maintain Ericsson's global Privacy Framework and Privacy Program.
The Group Privacy Office also support legal teams, privacy advisors and Data Protection Officers (DPOs) in the Business Areas (BAs), Market Areas (MAs), Group Functions (GFs) as well as operational units, which are responsible for supporting and monitoring the execution of the privacy program in all operating units and legal entities within the countries of responsibility.
What You Will Do
Represent the Group Privacy Office in Market Area North East Asia (MNEA), collaborating with Privacy Advisors, Legal Counsels, Compliance, Security, and other stakeholders to provide guidance and support.
Act as a subject matter expert on complex privacy issues, translating regulations and standards into policy, guidance, tools, and best practices, while advising on contracts, PIAs, incidents, DSARs, and records of processing activities.
Monitor and maintain awareness of applicable privacy laws and regulations in MNEA and assess compliance with local legal requirements.Provide legal and regulatory advice on privacy, data security, and related matters for projects, products, and new business opportunities, ensuring compliance with Ericsson's privacy strategy.
Support stakeholders by developing and delivering templates, standards, training, and awareness activities on privacy and related regulations.Conduct privacy risk assessments and support stakeholders in their work to define annual/tactical privacy compliance plans.
Lead and promote a culture of privacy compliance, transparency, and professional accountability across the organization.
The Skills You Bring
Minimum 5 years' experience as a privacy-focused business lawyer or privacy officer, with legal or security background.
Strong knowledge of privacy regulations in North East Asia, GDPR expertise, and interest in global privacy programs.
Proven ability to independently manage legal/privacy matters, prioritize conflicting demands, and work in fast-paced environments.
Excellent communication, networking, and social skills; at least basic Japanese and fluent in English (additional language desirable).
Integrity, analytical skills, and systematic, goal-oriented working style.
Team player who drives change, with international experience and IAPP certification (CIPM, CIPP/A, CIPP/E or equivalent) highly valued.
