About the Role
As the Department Manager for Advanced Quality Engineering, you will lead quality assurance initiatives for automotive electronic connectivity components, from planning and implementation to new product release. This is a senior leadership role responsible for ensuring compliance with global standards and driving quality excellence across development and manufacturing sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee quality assurance programs for new product development based on APQP principles.
- Manage and support cross-functional teams (product design, equipment design) to ensure quality objectives are met.
- Coordinate with manufacturing sites in Japan, China, and Thailand.
- Implement quality strategies aligned with corporate policies and monitor progress (cost reduction, defect prevention).
- Approve prototype shipments and mass production releases.
- Lead team development, performance management, and workplace environment improvement.
- Act as the primary interface with customers for new product audits and PPAP evaluations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering (electrical, electronic, mechanical).
- Native-level Japanese and business-level English (TOEIC 700+ or equivalent).
- Minimum 3 years of managerial experience in technical or quality departments within electronic components industry.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in EV or hybrid automotive component quality management.
- Hands-on experience with APQP, IATF16949, and new product quality planning.
- QC certification is a plus.
