Responsibilities
- Support audit management in the execution of audit plans (guarantee, advice, SOX, and other periodic and ad-hoc projects) for Manulife Japan and its group companies.
- Plan and implement audits (including SOX) based on audit methods, internal audit regulations, and regulatory requirements.
- Understand the audit target business processes and controls, and document them using the audit department's standard templates.
- Identify risks, controls, and problem points, develop test procedures, and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of controls and problem points.
- Present audit results to business unit management and obtain agreement. Propose practical and value-added proposals to improve the control environment and business efficiency.
- Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of audits by using data analysis methods. Ensure the quality of the work performed.
- Support the creation of audit reports. Audit reports must be clear, concise, and properly structured, and must be issued in accordance with the audit department's standards.
- Implement audits within budget and targets. Report schedule and budget overruns to project leaders and directors.
- Ensure independence and support business unit management through advice and proposals.
- Follow up with business unit management to complete audit recommendations in a timely manner.
- Lead the initiative of the audit department as needed.
- Identify business-related risks through off-site monitoring activities and reflect this information in the annual audit plan.

What we are looking for:
- 5 years or more of relevant work experience, or 5 years or more of experience working for the Manulife Group.
- Experience working in the financial industry (particularly in life insurance and asset management).
- Data analysis experience (using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Alteryx, and Python).
- Experience working in a business that uses English.
- Self-motivated, fair, cautious, independent, and honest spirit, and a sense of responsibility for quality.
- Knowledge of audit methodologies, control frameworks, and risk management methods.
- Ability to work in a results-oriented and multi-priority and project-balanced environment.
- Communication skills in Japanese and English (oral and written). TOEIC 750 points or higher.
- Problem-solving ability.
- Skills for managing audits and other projects, including interpersonal skills and project management skills.
- A team player who can openly share ideas and knowledge, and also receive them.
- Data analysis skills (using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Alteryx, and Python).
- Knowledge of insurance industry rules and guidelines, and compliance risks.
- Accounting (CPA, CA) or internal audit (CIA, CISA) certification.
Work from outside the office:
Hybrid work will be implemented. The team will decide on work from outside the office in accordance with the company's guidelines (Working Better).
Overwork:
0-20 hours per month.

One time per year (based on individual and company performance).
