A global investment banking group with a strong presence in Tokyo is looking for a Compliance Officer to join its Legal and Compliance Department.
Reporting directly to the Head of Legal and Compliance in Japan, this role is integral to ensuring the firm's operations remain in full compliance with local regulations and internal policies.
The Compliance Officer will advise business units on compliance issues, review new product initiatives, manage AML/KYC processes, liaise with regulatory bodies, and collaborate with overseas teams in Beijing and Hong Kong.
A deep understanding of Japan's Financial Instruments and Exchange Act, AML laws, and securities regulations is essential.The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in a compliance role within a Type 1 Financial Instruments Business Operator, and must hold required certifications from the Japan Securities Dealers Association.
Fluency in Japanese and strong English communication skills are required, along with a proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative mindset.
