Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
15 years of experience in Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) or Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) sales roles.
10 years of experience promoting and selling cloud computing technologies to organizations.
Customer-facing experience running engagements with clients (e.g., consulting, project management, sales, implementation, or technical sales).
Experience with cloud, data, AI technologies, information technology, and enterprise computer systems that support business goals.

Ability to communicate in English and Japanese fluently as this is a customer-facing role that requires interactions in Japanese with local stakeholders.


Preferred qualifications:
Master's degree or MBA.
Executive experience in digital transformation either at a manufacturing company or serving/selling to manufacturing companies (e.g., consulting, technical services).
Experience building teams, processes, and sales motions from the ground up in hyper growth environments.
Understanding of the global cloud computing market, and key drivers for growth in the target industry segment.

About The Job


As Director, you will be responsible for progressing Google Cloud's strategy for adoption and growth in the Manufacturing and Industry cluster.

You will focus on client engagement and field enablement work in Japan, while supporting global industry initiatives.

You will support sales teams in winning and growing industry customers, collaborate with and guide product and engineering organizations on product strategy and roadmaps, foster and develop the industry partner ecosystem (e.g., ISVs and Systems Integrators), and coordinate with cross-functional teams to execute against challenging growth goals.


Additionally, you will work with global and regional enablement teams to help develop and grow the Google Cloud Manufacturing and Industry community and field personnel to build deeper industry knowledge and capabilities across the company.


In this role, you will have a perspective on the ongoing evolution and transformation in the industry, and how cloud, data, and AI can serve retail companies in achieving their business objectives.

Responsibilities


Manage a team of Field Sales Executives and Sales Managers to meet quarterly and annual bookings objectives for the region by targeting enterprise companies, with a constant march up-market.

Participate in C-level and executive engagements in support of Sales teams' account strategies. Understand customer demand and work with our product, solutions, and partner teams to develop the industry portfolio.
Partner with the cross-functional Manufacturing and Industry team. Utilize global thought leadership demonstrated in industry events and publications.
Build and foster relationships with Google leaders across the Cloud and broader Google organization.
Serve as a key contributor to the manufacturing and industry strategy and roadmap.
