Randstad is partnered with a leading Life Insurance firm in their search for an experienced

Cloud Data Engineer / SRE with specialization in Data projects, to join their growing team. This is a unique opportunity to lead the efforts of developing the client's data infrastructure for the implementation and scalability of cutting-edge machine learning and AI solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Manage, monitor, and support Data Projects: supervise, integrate and connect major data management tools with various data sources, and oversees ETL processes.

• Maintain Cloud Infrastructure: Design, build, and manage resilient Azure infrastructure and services supporting large-scale data pipelines and systems.

• Monitoring, Incident Response, Change management: Implement robust monitoring and alerting systems for data pipelines and Azure services. Respond to incidents and troubleshoot issues related to uptime, performance, and data availability, as well as lead stakeholder communication for change management.

• Automation & Continuous Improvement: Automate repetitive tasks and create self-healing systems by implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, ARM templates, or Azure Bicep.

• Collaboration: Work closely with data engineers, DevOps, and software developers to ensure smooth operation and reliability of data tools, optimizing performance and scalability.

• Data Management Tools Support:

o Azure Data Factory: Manage, monitor, and troubleshoot data integration workflows.

o Azure Synapse Analytics: Ensure the performance and scalability of data warehouses and analytics systems.

o Cosmos DB: Oversee the operations, scaling, and backup of distributed database solutions.

Key Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in an SRE role or similar position.

• Strong experience in creating and managing data projects, with a focus on ETL Processes and Data Lake / Data Factories management.

• Strong experience in deploying, managing, and monitoring Azure Cloud environments, particularly with data management tools.

• Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Cosmos DB, and related data technologies.

• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices (e.g., Terraform, Azure Resource Manager, or Azure Bicep).

Skills:

• Proficient with Azure monitoring tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights).

• Strong experience in building CI/CD pipelines using tools like Azure DevOps or Jenkins.

• Solid understanding of containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless computing (Azure Functions).

• Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with distributed systems and large-scale data architecture.

• Familiarity with microservices and event-driven architectures.

• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.

• Knowledge of cost optimization strategies in Azure environments
