Job Title

A Commodity Manager is responsible for developing and implementing commodity strategies that drive business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develops, aligns, and implements commodity strategies to optimize business performance.
• Negotiates and manages agreements with suppliers to ensure alignment with Applied Materials' business objectives.
• Collaborates with the Procurement Leadership Council (PLC) process to ensure strategic alignment.
• DIRECTS new supplier introduction and/or disengagement requirements within the Applied Materials supply base.
• DRIVES resolution to systemic supply chain issues affecting quality, cost, delivery, or lead-time, including engagement with sub-tiers.
• DEVELOPS and presents high-level cost reduction opportunities to senior management.

Functional Knowledge:

• Demonstrates expertise in a specialized field or discipline.

Business Expertise:

• Interprets business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services.

Leadership:

• MAY LEAD functional teams or projects with moderate resource requirements, risk, and complexity.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree preferred; Associate's Degree acceptable.

7-10 years of experience in a similar role.

Familiarity with procurement processes and tools.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Effective communication and negotiation skills.

Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
