Job Purpose

  • Lead the international and domestic purchasing team to support production and distribution, catering to customer demand.
  • Manage NDL's export/import operations to ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Oversee material and inventory planning to align with business and supply chain requirements.
  • Supervise inventory and supply chain processes and projects with APAC/DCI members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Implement initiatives to enhance daily operations and report to management accordingly.
  • Manage existing overseas and domestic forwarders.
  • Support the improvement and optimization of overseas and domestic suppliers through QCLDM evaluation.
  • Optimize logistics for import components from ex-factory to delivery.
  • Maintain order quantities with overseas and domestic suppliers in coordination with various departments through S&OP meetings.
  • Ensure trade compliance for all export/import activities with the APAC team.
  • Execute assigned tasks and related duties based on business needs.
  • Oversee inventory levels and turnover, including goods in transit and supplier consignment stock.
  • Manage SLOB inventory, conduct meetings to reduce excess stock, and report to APAC.
  • Control demand/supply to address urgent delivery issues.
  • Lead projects to improve operational processes and spearhead ISO certification applications.

Education Qualification:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in purchasing and/or supply chain management.

Technical Competence & Skills:

  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Japanese and English.
  • Over 5 years of team management experience.
  • More than 5 years of procurement and/or supply chain management experience in manufacturing.

Leadership Competence:

  • Develop and nurture the team to meet internal goals.
  • Collaborate with the APAC team and other local departments.
  • Possess legal knowledge of export and import processes.
  • Develop, motivate, and engage direct reports and team members.

Relevant Experience:

  • Understanding of export/import operations.
  • Experience in sourcing new suppliers, both domestically and internationally.
  • Experience leading ad hoc projects such as ERP system implementations.

Others (% of travel, language, etc.):

  • Business-level proficiency in English (TOEIC 800+).
  • Travel as needed to customers or intercompany locations.
  • Knowledge of Mandarin is a plus.
