About the Role

The company, a European medium-sized market leader in mechanical engineering, is seeking a Managing Director for its well-established subsidiary in Japan's Yokohama region. This role offers full P&L responsibility for sales, marketing, and service activities in Japan.

• Manage, coach, and motivate local teams
• Further optimize and professionalize processes and organization
• Develop and implement a sales strategy tailored to local customer needs to increase market share and turnover
• Expand non-automotive business and drive automotive business
• Proactively manage key customers

The successful candidate will report directly to the headquarters in Central Europe.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you should have:

• A university degree in engineering
• Profound experience as a sales leader with documented success
• Knowledge of selling machinery solutions or mechanical components to the automotive sector and other industrial segments
• An entrepreneurial and proactive sales personality with conceptual strength and technical understanding
• Fluency in Japanese and good communication skills in English
• Lived in the greater Yokohama area
