Responsibilities

:
  • Prospecting: Identify and research potential customers within the assigned territory, including construction companies, contractors, manufacturers, and other relevant businesses.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Develop and maintain long-term, trusting relationships with existing and potential clients. Regularly engage with customers to understand their requirements, offer solutions, and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Product Knowledge: Demonstrate an understanding of the company's products, including specifications, applications, and benefits, to effectively communicate their value to customers.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends, competitor offerings, and market conditions. Provide feedback and insights to the company to adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Networking: Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to expand your network, identify potential leads, and promote the company's brand.
  • Territory Management: Efficiently manage and prioritize sales activities within the assigned territory to maximize productivity and revenue generation.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, including sales calls, meetings, and customer interactions.
  • Problem Solving: Assist in addressing customer inquiries, concerns, and issues promptly and effectively to ensure customer satisfaction and maintain a positive reputation for the company.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay informed about industry best practices and sales techniques. Continuously seek opportunities for personal and professional development.
  • Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in outside sales, preferably in the pipe, steel, fencing, and fittings distribution industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Proficiency in sales software and CRM tools.
  • Knowledge of pipe and steel products and their applications.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • The Outside Sales Representative has a critical role in driving revenue growth and fostering customer relationships. Success in this role requires a combination of product knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a results-driven approach to sales.
