Job Title: Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

About the Job:

This position is based in Japan, supporting a customer mission at Marine Corp Air Station Iwakuni, Japan. We are seeking a skilled Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator to ensure safe and efficient operation of wastewater treatment systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and maintain activated sludge wastewater plants 24/7, ensuring systems are operational 365 days a year.
• Custodial responsibility for work areas, management of tools, equipment, and spare parts for wastewater treatment plants.
• Repair, maintenance, installation, and modernization of wastewater treatment systems for buildings and grounds.
• Collect wastewater samples, perform lab testing, and record data for regulatory reports.
• Monitor chemical feed systems and storage tank levels site-wide.
• Interpret system operation readings and recommend corrective actions.

Requirements:

• Experience in municipal water or wastewater treatment systems.
• Knowledge of techniques, equipment, materials, and regulations used in wastewater treatment equipment and systems.

Education and Language:

• A Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator vocational diploma or completion of an Apprentice program is preferred.
• Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing Japanese is required, including reading and using building diagrams and technical manuals. Bilingual English and Japanese is preferred.

• A valid passport with a minimum of 12 months remaining to expiration date.
• Ability to obtain a company-sponsored Japanese Work Visa (if not currently a resident of Japan).
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Japanese Driver License and operate a Company provided motor vehicle on MCAS Iwakuni.

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per annum

Working Environment:

Non-SOFA assignment, working eight hours/day five days a week with a 24/7 duty phone rotation.
