JOB SUMMARY
:
The Senior Director, Concept Architecture provides strategic creative vision for all projects, ensuring that all creative design and execution adheres to the brand strategies of Universal Destinations and Experiences (UDX). Through leadership, innovation and vision, the Senior Director, Concept Architecture inspires teams to design, develop and deliver "best in class" Universal theme park destinations and experiences. The Senior Director, Concept Architecture is part of an executive leadership team that is responsible for the strategicplanning and management of the creativestudio and also serves as a creative liaison across multiple internal and external stakeholders.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

- Own and oversee:
- The creative intent, development of concept facility design packages, conceptual land use plans and concept masterplans for a wide range of projects, both domestically and internationally, including attractions, retail and dining venues, themed lands, entire parks and resorts.
- The early land use planning and conceptual layout of early-stage projects, including the initial fitment exercises, multiple use options and site considerations (connecting transportation, topography, adjacencies, impacts and more)
- Concept Master planning, landscape design and area development.
- Concept facility design for all early-stage projects, including program development, outsidevendor management, coordination with ride, show and creative requirements.
- Global retail and restaurant concept design.
- Global lite project oversight, through site visits and partnership with project teams.
- Build and maintain vertical, diagonal and horizontal stakeholder relationships; partner closely with global leaders (food, merch, tech services, operations, universal products & experiences, placemaking etc.) from all properties in order to understand program needs and develop future strategies that maximize and align to business goals.
- Acts as the "vision-keeper" on all assigned projects. Communicates, inspires, and maintains project intentamong all team-members. Drives the storyfor the project and its development as necessary to maintain the creative intent and deliver the intended guest experience.
- Collaborates withinthe Studio executive leadership team, ensuring that the workof the Concept Architecture department is closely coordinated with, Creative Direction, Art Direction, Design Development, Design Engineering, Creative management and Advanced Technology Interactives group.
- Manages outsideresources such as Architects, Engineers, Landscape Architects, Master Planners; carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION
:
bachelor's or master's degree in architecture or construction Management required. License to practice Architecture is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
:
15+ years in the resort design and development of Entertainment or Hospitality based projects such as Theme Parks, Hotels, Retail, Food/Beverage and Entertainment venues; or equivalent combination of education and experience.; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
