We are looking for a highly motivated Bilingual Recruiter fluent in Japanese and English. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills in both languages and a deep understanding of Japanese work culture and expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end recruitment for diverse roles across IT, automotive, manufacturing, engineering, and other business functions.
- Partner with business leaders and hiring managers to understand role requirements, project needs, and cultural expectations—especially for Japanese-speaking teams or clients.
- Source candidates from both domestic and international markets using multiple channels (job portals, social media, industry networks, campus hiring, etc.), with a focus on Japanese-English bilingual talent.
- Conduct screenings and interviews in both Japanese and English, assessing technical skills, communication ability, and cultural alignment.
- Draft and publish job postings tailored to specific industries and roles—ensuring alignment with local market language and expectations.
- Coordinate and schedule interviews with cross-functional teams across different time zones, ensuring smooth communication and timely feedback loops.
- Build and maintain a pipeline of bilingual candidates with skills relevant to IT (developers, testers, infra), Automotive (R&D, design, production), and Non-IT (HR, finance, supply chain, admin) roles.
- Work closely with HR, compliance, and onboarding teams to ensure smooth transitions for hires, especially when working across international or cross-cultural teams.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) and generate regular reports for stakeholders.
- Support employer branding efforts, especially within the Japanese business community, job fairs, and university outreach programs.
Requirements:
- Professional fluency in both Japanese (JLPT certified preferred) and English—written and spoken.
- 2–5 years of experience in recruitment, preferably in roles requiring Japanese language skills.
- Familiarity with Japanese business etiquette and communication styles.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- Experience working with ATS platforms and recruitment tools.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple roles, and deliver under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience hiring for Japanese companies or supporting Japan-based teams.
- Understanding of Japanese labor practices or experience recruiting in the APAC region.
- Exposure to hiring for tech, product, or marketing teams is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
