We are supporting a well-established Japan-based enterprise in expanding its Japan Data Platform Team. As a Data Analyst bridging business and engineering, you will play a key role in driving data utilization and analytics initiatives. You will translate business goals into data requirements, collaborate with engineering teams, and design solutions that create measurable business value.

Key Qualifications

■必須要件/SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• ビジネスレベルの日本語スキル

社内のビジネス部門と効果的にコミュニケーションを取り、業務背景や要件を正しく理解し、日本語での議論やドキュメント作成に対応できること。

• 中級レベルの英語スキル

チーム内では英語が主な業務言語となるため、Slack・Teams・メールなど文書でのコミュニケーションや、英語による定例ミーティングへの参加が可能なこと。

• Pythonなどの汎用プログラミング言語での実務経験(目安2年以上)

データワークフローや分析を支援するためのスクリプト・アプリケーションの作成、デバッグ、保守が可能であること

• スピード感のある環境での高いコラボレーションスキル

プロダクト、営業、エンジニアリングなど複数の関係部署と連携し、要件の整理や合意形成、部門横断的な調整・デリバリーを自発的に推進できること。

• 分析的な思考力と柔軟な問題解決力

ビジネスやデータに関する課題に対して論理的にアプローチし、根本原因を特定し、実践的かつデータドリブンな解決策を提案できること。ビジネス課題を明確な分析タスクに落とし込める能力

• 中級レベルのSQLスキル

以下のような一般的なデータ分析業務に対応できるSQLスキルを有すること:

-複数テーブルのJOINや条件付きフィルタリング

-GROUP BYやCASEを用いた集計処理

-サブクエリおよびウィンドウ関数(例:PARTITION BY)の活用

-既存SQLの読み取り、修正、検証 (BigQuery、Snowflake、Redshift、MySQL等の使用経験があれば尚可)

• ビジネス価値に焦点を当てたデータワークフロー、ダッシュボード、レポートの設計・実装

• 技術・非技術両方の関係者に対し、プロジェクトの目標・進捗・リスクを的確に共有する

• 社内におけるデータプラットフォームとBIツールの活用を支援し、定着を促進する

• データの品質チェックおよび検証業務の実施

Team Structure

The engineering division is highly diverse, with both Japanese and international members. It consists of:

• Software Engineering, Data Engineering, and DevOps teams (Azure-based delivery)
• IT Strategy & Planning (monitoring, resource planning, cost analysis, forecasting)
• IT Security, IT Support, Network & Infrastructure teams

You'll collaborate closely with these groups while leading cross-departmental communication.

Responsibilities

• Engage directly with business stakeholders to explore and understand challenges
• Translate business goals into clear, actionable data requirements
• Bridge business and data engineering teams, leading requirement definition and alignment
• Design and implement data workflows, dashboards, and reports with a focus on business value
• Share project goals, risks, and progress effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Promote company-wide adoption of data platforms and BI tools
• Perform data quality checks and validations

Requirements

Must-Have

• Business-level Japanese (for stakeholder communication & documentation)
• Intermediate English (written communication, meetings with international team)
• 2+ years of programming experience (Python or similar)
• Intermediate SQL skills: joins, grouping, filtering, subqueries, window functions
• Experience in cross-department collaboration with strong communication skills
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving with ability to break down business challenges into data tasks

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or dbt
• Hands-on experience with BI tools and enterprise data platforms
