We're seeking a dedicated Government Relations Manager with expertise in public policy, particularly digital platforms. This role will involve advocating for platform transparency legislation, engaging with policymakers, and promoting policies that align with our objectives.
About the Role:
This position requires monitoring legislative developments related to platform transparency, consumer protection, data privacy, and other online digital platform issues. The ideal candidate will establish relationships with government officials, industry associations, and regulatory bodies to ensure regulatory compliance and business development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments related to digital platforms.
- Establish and maintain relationships with government officials, regulators, and stakeholders.
- Develop strategies to enhance transparency and fairness on our platform.
- Represent the company at government hearings and industry events.
- Collaborate with internal teams to address policy challenges.
- Provide expert advice on public policy matters to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 8 years of experience in government relations, preferably in e-commerce or internet industries.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Comprehensive understanding of Japan's policy environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with business-level proficiency in Japanese and English.
- Strong networking skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience in planning and legal work in a government agency.
- Experience working in a matrix MNC company or PR/GR consultancy firm.
The estimated salary for this role is $120,000 - $180,000 per year, based on location and experience.
