Position OverviewWe are seeking a strategic and experienced HR Director to lead the Human Resources function in Japan.
This role is a key partner to the Japan leadership team and plays a pivotal role in aligning HR strategies with business goals, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring compliance with local labor regulations.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic HR Leadership
Partner with country and regional leadership to develop and execute HR strategies that support business growth.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on all people-related matters.
Talent Acquisition & Development
Lead recruitment efforts across all business units.
Drive succession planning, talent reviews, and high-potential development programs.
Employee Relations & Compliance
Ensure full compliance with Japanese labor laws and internal policies.
Promote a positive, legally sound working environment.
Organizational Development & Change Management
Lead organizational design, capability building, and change initiatives.
Support cross-border HR integration and alignment with global policies.
Compensation & Benefits
Oversee local compensation and benefits programs.
Collaborate with regional teams to ensure competitiveness and equity.
Performance & Culture
Champion a performance-driven culture.
Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.
Team Leadership
Manage and mentor a high-performing HR team.

Requirement
Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).
10+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership roles in Japan.
Proven track record in strategic HR business partnering within multinational or high-growth environments.
Deep understanding of Japanese labor law and HR practices.
Bilingual:
Fluent Japanese and business-level English.
Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
Agile, proactive, and hands-on approach to problem-solving.
