The Research Analyst is a strategic professional who stays up-to-date with the latest developments in their field and contributes to directional strategy by considering their application in their job and the business. This role requires a recognized technical authority for an area within the business, with basic commercial awareness.
This position involves guiding, influencing, and convincing others, particularly colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers, through complex deliverables that have a significant impact on the area, eventually affecting the overall performance and effectiveness of the sub-function/job family.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Vice President-level Analyst will be responsible for a group of stocks in the sectors described above.
- Responsibilities include building financial models, writing research reports, conducting macroeconomic analysis on the global energy industry, communicating our team's ideas to institutional investors, conducting due diligence, and working with Citi's product team to identify trends in the space.
- Self-starter with experience working in a team environment and ambition to progress their career within equity research.
- Conduct analysis, make Investment Recommendations, produce/collaborate on thematic research, interact with Institutional Clients, achieve solid external survey and broker vote rankings, arrange company visits, attend industry conferences, track company events, develop financial models, establish themselves as an expert, and assess risk when making business decisions.
Requirements:
- 6-10 years of relevant experience.
- District research into an investable thesis and write report/note.
- Market ideas to internal constituents and clients via phone calls and client marketing trips.
- Help facilitate direct corporate access for investors.
- Provide independent (regulatory controlled) analysis.
- Experience in institutional equity sales is a plus.
- Secure and maintain applicable licenses.
- Team leadership potential.
- Bilingual English/Japanese.
- Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred.
