Job Title: Trainee / Intern in the Tour Director Regional Office
Eight months work placement as a trainee or intern to gain hands-on experience and skills in a dynamic and international environment.
Salary: Estimated annual salary $45,000 - $55,000 based on location and industry standards.
The Role
As an Intern / Trainee in the Tour Director Department of Kyoto, your responsibilities will be varied throughout the season.
You will support our freelance Tour Directors across Japan, assisting with pre-tour preparations, answering queries, and resolving daily issues that may arise during tours.
Liaising with Operations staff in Tokyo, Zurich, and Boston, you will contribute to improving office processes and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- First point of contact for Tour Directors (TDs) when calling or visiting the office.
- Assisting TDs with materials, documentation, and communication related to their tours.
- Answering queries and questions from Tour Directors.
- Liaising with Operations staff in Tokyo and other locations.
- Supporting the TD Department team with daily tasks and administrative responsibilities.
- Contributing to recruitment, training, and preparation for new Tour Directors.
- Exploring long-term solutions to improve office processes.
Requirements
- Fluent in English.
- Fluent in Japanese.
- Permission to work in Japan without restriction.
- Confident and friendly attitude with a customer-oriented mindset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong initiative with proven problem-solving skills.
- Innovative attitude with a 'nothing is impossible' approach.
