As the Director of Agency Sales, you will be a very strong entrepreneurial leader, responsible for driving sales from a portfolio of key agencies/ intermediaries, brands and direct clients across our customer base by creating and selling effective mobile advertising solutions that meet their needs across Japan. You will also participate in and actively shape InMobi Japan's sales strategy, go-to-market and execution plan & sales team management including meeting and exceeding revenue targets, quarterly targets and strategic objectives. You will be a key member of InMobi's Japan leadership team, actively shaping the business with your expertise, skills and leadership. Flexibility in style for different countries and cultures is a must. This role will report into the APAC head.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of overall Japan Agency sales plan and strategy, working closely with other cross-functional teams
- Identify and close strategic advertising partnerships with leading brand advertisers or agencies/ intermediaries that help ensure long term success for the company
- Build strong relationships with Japan agencies – Dentsu/Hakuhodo/ADK/Cyberagent and establish InMobi as a partner of choice.
- Develop and grow repeat business from existing advertising customers, partners and agencies
- Must have or quickly develop senior-most agency relationships at leadership level in the region
- Manage agency and advertiser relationships to achieve quarterly revenue and monetization targets
- Work cross-functionally to articulate and develop new advertising opportunities that meet the needs of buyers and demand sources.
- Communicate effectively internally to align resources (product, engineering, business operations etc.) to help meet and exceed advertisers' needs that are critical to InMobi success in JP
- Entrepreneurial, self-motivating attitude and ability to lead a team positively
- Coach & mentor existing sales team and proactively problem solve around any challenges.
- Actively drive hiring of new sales team members & be responsible for full ramp-up/ training.
Key Requirements:
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in digital media advertising sales
- Education: BSc/ BA required; MBA preferred
- Industry Type: Mobile/ Digital Media/ Agency Sales; Advertising Sales
- Strong Sales Experience & proven versatility in problem solving with extensive contacts across the industry in Agencies/ ATD, DSP, Ad-Tech &/ or Advertisers
- Excellent communication & analytical mindset with a strong understanding of the digital ad marketplace
- Native-level proficiency in Japanese, with strong working knowledge of English, is essential
- Prior client facing experience while owning revenue management for a product/ business line/ account/ geography
- Ability to work across different global cultures and in a matrix style environment
- Intermediate/ Advanced knowledge of MS Excel skills/ PowerPoint
Nice to have:
- Basic to medium proficiency in the ad-tech ecosystem of ad exchanges/ networks, DSPs, 1st and 3rd party audience targeting and technology, online measurement, ad-operations, delivery and measurement platforms.
