Role OverviewWe are hiring a Global Trade Intelligence Consultant to contribute to research and policy advisory projects focused on regional integration, infrastructure modernization, and cross-border trade facilitation.
This remote position is ideal for candidates based in Tokyo or the broader East Asia region with a background in international trade policy, transport economics, or logistics innovation.
The role supports applied research assignments covering institutional diagnostics, port performance benchmarking, customs reform, and supply chain resilience—all tailored to donor-funded technical assistance, multilateral institutions, and public-sector modernization efforts.
Key ResponsibilitiesConduct trade policy and logistics research relevant to Asian and global trade corridors
Support development of policy notes, benchmarking studies, and regional infrastructure diagnostics
Analyze customs modernization efforts, digitalization trends, and cross-border logistics efficiency
Track institutional frameworks, trade agreement dynamics, and investment in port infrastructure
Draft client-ready deliverables, presentations, and briefing materials for multilateral agencies
Monitor developments related to free trade agreements, regional value chains, and trade resilience
Qualifications
Master's degree or final-year student in International Trade, Public Policy, Development Economics, or a related discipline
2–5 years of experience in applied policy research, trade facilitation, or logistics strategy
Familiarity with Asia-Pacific trade dynamics, FTAs, port governance, and trade data platforms
Excellent writing and research skills; ability to produce structured deliverables for institutional audiences
Fluency in English required
