We are looking for a mechanical engineer who can join the team to develop our new robots from scratch until the mass production phase. Our robots will be deployed into logistics warehouses, therefore they will need to withstand daily use in real-life environments (as opposed to pure R&D use).
Responsibilities
- In a small team of engineers (5-10), support the design of new reliable robots that are scalable, cost-effective, and manufacturable, maintainable at the scale of 100s.
- Define functional specifications based on business and operational requirements.
- Lead the mechanical design and prototyping to meet the requirements.
- Develop assembly processes and tools for assembly.
- Plan and conduct QA for successful deployment.
- Select optimal actuators (DC motors, stepping motors, air cylinders, etc) and power transmission mechanisms (gears, ming belts, links, etc.) that enable product market fit.
- Take a leading role in the transition from design to production and provide continued support to production throughout the volume ramp and beyond.
- Work with other members of the engineering and operation teams to ensure that products are developed to meet all performance and quality standards in a timely manner.
- Maintain detailed BoMs and BoMs cost. Work closely with vendors on going specs to meet cost requirements.

- 種々のアクチュエータ(DCモータ、ステッピングモータ、エアシリンダ、etc)、動⼒ 伝達機構(ギア、タイミングベルト、リンク、etc)から⽤途・制約に応じて最適な⽅式 を選定。
- 設計から製造への移⾏において主導的な役割を担い、量産⽴ち上げとそれ以降の製造を 継続的にサポートする。
- 性能・品質の基準を満たす製品開発がタイムリーに⾏われるよう、エンジニアリング チームやオペレーションチームと協⼒する。
- 詳細なBoMとBoMコストの管理。コスト要件を満たすために、仕様の交渉についてベン ダーと緊密に協⼒する。
Requirements
- Experience in design, development and manufacturing of reliable, high tolerance hardware products. Experience with robotics and logistics is a big plus.
- Ability to find an optimal and realistic mechanical design solution under tight time constraints.
- Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
- Hands-on experience in evaluating and extracting hardware issues and making necessary changes for improvement.
- Hands-on experience in transitioning a newly developed product from design to manufacturing and ability to design detailed hardware specs at the mass production level.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving and goal-oriented environment where everyone works autonomously without much handholding.

- 新しく開発された製品を設計から製造に移⾏する実務経験と、⼤量⽣産レベルで詳細な ハードウェア仕様を設計する能⼒。
- 動きが速く⽬的指向性が⾼い環境で、⾃律的に働くことができる能⼒。

Position Location will be at Telexistence's Headquarters Office (Heiwajima, Ota-ku, Tokyo) or another location designated by the company. The role assignment may be modified based on organizational requirements. This could include changes to your job responsibilities, reporting structure, or team assignment.
