Job Purpose and Scope

Ambit of Responsibilities:

  • Achieve the annual sales goals agreed upon by Business Division for each territory under your supervision.
  • Establish good relationships with customers, wholesalers and other business partners in the territory you are in charge of. As a company representative, manage them, undertake sales activities with them, collect and provide information for them.

Core Job Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities:

  • Create an annual sales plan based on the agreement with Business Division and your immediate supervisor.
  • Collect, provide and utilize various tools to achieve steady progress of each business step.
  • Carry out sales activities that are in tune with the strategies of Business Division. Undertake educational activities by holding explanatory meetings, lecture meetings, etc.
  • Manage actual achievement results customer by customer and product by product.
  • Conduct a monthly review of the sales results and make plans for the next month.
  • Make a weekly table of action management and manage your actions according to the table.
  • Present reports on the actual achievement results, etc. monthly or when you think it proper to do so, following the instructions given by BM or Business Division.
  • Collect and report market information.
  • Address the complaints in accordance with the Pharmaceutical Affairs Law as well as the procedure adopted by Abbott Japan and Business Division.
  • Try to strengthen relationships with customers by visiting them regularly.
  • Observe company rules and regulations as well as those of the medical industry and conduct fair business.
  • Perform any additional ad hoc jobs requested by Abbott Japan, ADC Business Division, and your immediate supervisor.

  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.
  • Excellent PC skills including MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point.
  • Cooperation skills.
  • Teamwork skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills to build good relationships with customers.

Knowledge / Education Required

Degree (4-year university graduate)

Experience Required

Desirable: Sales experience in the pharmaceutical industry for mid-career hires
