The Opportunity:
As a Principal Field Application Engineer (FAE) you will be a critical technical resource, providing expert-level support to our key customers and sales teams. You will be responsible for driving design wins, resolving complex technical challenges, and ensuring customer satisfaction with Allegro's cutting-edge magnetic sensor and power IC solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of our products, customer applications, and the ability to influence technical decisions at all levels. You will serve as a trusted advisor to customers and a vital feedback loop to our product development teams, embodying Allegro's "Customers First" value.
What You Will Do:
Provide expert-level technical support to strategic customers throughout the entire design cycle, from initial concept to mass production.
Collaborate closely with the sales team to identify new opportunities, present Allegro's value proposition, and secure design wins for our advanced IC solutions.
Conduct in-depth technical discussions, product demonstrations, and training sessions for customers and internal teams.
Analyze customer system requirements and propose optimal Allegro solutions, including magnetic sensors (current, position, TMR), motor drivers, and power management ICs.
Act as the primary technical interface for complex customer issues, debugging, and root cause analysis, escalating to product engineering when necessary.
Translate customer feedback and market trends into clear technical requirements for product development and marketing teams.
Champion customer needs internally, ensuring their technical challenges are addressed effectively and promptly.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of Allegro's product portfolio, roadmaps, and competitive landscape.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer application requirements in target markets such as automotive, industrial, and consumer electronics.
Provide insights to product marketing and engineering on future product definitions and enhancements.
Serve as a technical mentor and resource for less experienced FAEs, sales engineers, and customers.
Lead technical discussions and initiatives, contributing to the overall technical strategy of the field applications team.
Develop and share best practices, technical documentation, and application notes.
What You Will Need:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field. Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 8-12 years of experience in Field Application Engineering, Applications Engineering, or a similar customer-facing technical role within the semiconductor industry.
Proven track record of securing design wins and resolving complex technical challenges with customers.
Extensive experience with magnetic sensors (Hall-effect, TMR), motor control, power management, or similar analog/mixed-signal ICs.
Strong understanding of analog and mixed-signal circuit design, including signal conditioning, power electronics, and embedded systems.
Proficiency in schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, Altium, Cadence).
Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies) for debugging and characterization.
English communication skill (ability to host conference calls with US engineers)
