Role
As a Software Engineer specializing in Backend development, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance, scalable, and reliable backend systems.
We highly prize engineers who have the ability to build backend systems that combine complex and innovative use of different databases and their structures to achieve a unified ingestion, storage and compute layer for AEC type of data (3D geometry, rasta type data etc) such that AI systems can leverage it.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop, test and maintain C# .
NET plugins and extensions for CAD platforms (initial focus:
Revit).
Implement new features, fix bugs and ship plugin updates; assist with packaging and distribution workflows.
Write and maintain Python scripts and tools used for data preparation, pipelines and developer utilities.
Integrate plugins with backend services (REST APIs, authentication, error handling, JSON payloads).
Participate in code reviews, pair programming and team design sessions; follow team engineering standards.
Write unit and integration tests where applicable; help maintain CI/CD pipelines.
Produce and maintain documentation for developer workflows and plugin user behavior.
Career Path
This is a long-term junior role with mentorship.
Clear progression to mid-level or plugin-specialist roles, and horizontal moves to backend/platform work are available as the engineer gains experience.
WLB and conditionsHybrid remote policy (typically 2–3 remote days per week) with required on-site days for important syncs, pair-programming, and events. Core time for meetings and syncs from 10AM to 4PM JST.
Essential Requirements - Must Haves
Comfortable programming in C# .NET. Able to read and extend existing .NET projects.
Basic Python skills — able to read, write and run simple apps (console-based and/or server-side) used for data processing or developer tooling.
Strong OOP fundamentals and ability to model code cleanly.Coursework or practical experience in software engineering fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, basic system design).
Business-level English for daily communication (required).
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related (Civil / Construction Engineering with programming experience is acceptable).
Desirable Requirements - Nice To Haves
Prior experience building or modifying Revit plugins or other CAD plugins (Rhino, AutoCAD, SketchUp, etc.).
Familiarity with modern .NET (6/7/8) and/or .NET Framework and plugin/desktop development patterns.
Experience packaging .NET assemblies, creating installers, or distributing plugins for Windows/.NET environments.
Familiarity with REST APIs (HttpClient, JSON serialization, auth tokens) from the .NET side.
Basic knowledge of 3D formats or BIM/CAD concepts (IFC, Revit models, meshes, point clouds).
Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (NUnit, xUnit) and CI/CD basics.
Experience with Git and exposure to Docker or cloud platforms is a big plus.
