Team Summary

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) drives tangible, impactful and financial results for Visa's clients, including card issuers, acquirers, and merchants. Drawing on our expertise in strategy consulting, data analytics, brand management, marketing, operations and macroeconomics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients.

The VCA team within Japan provides a comprehensive range of consulting services and solutions to our clients in Japan, that address unique challenges in areas such as strategic growth, profitability, risk management and digital strategy.

VCA Managed Services members play a key role in enhancing the partnership with one of Visa Japan's largest clients by supporting strategic planning and implementation of their most strategic initiatives.

What a Manager, VCA Managed Services does at Visa:

We are currently looking for a Manager to drive consulting engagements and Visa solution sell-in for one of our largest clients in Japan, contributing to strategy and new business development in their issuing business, application of agentic AI, and other strategic agenda. The Manager will manage consulting projects or workstreams, drive Visa solutions sell-in, and act as a key point of contact for their issuing/ acquiring business, working closely with client teams, her/his manager, and internal local/global stakeholders as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Drive initiative implementation to enable client's strategic projects by applying Visa solutions and consulting methodologies, such as clarifying key questions, gathering and analyzing quantitative data, and assisting in developing strategic recommendations in collaboration with internal stakeholders. Example areas of support include:
  • New issuing business strategy development support and execution
  • Application of AI/agentic AI into their workflows
  • Contributing to the sell-in of new Visa solutions and supporting project management activities
• Build and maintain effective relationships with client managers and key stakeholders to facilitate project execution and ensure client needs are met.
• Deliver high-quality project outcomes by utilizing consulting and/or product management skills, coordinating with subject matter experts, including data analysts, product specialists, and client service representatives in Japan and overseas.
• Consult with and report to their manager as needed to ensure alignment of project direction and quality of project outputs.
• Develop expertise in relevant subject areas, identify emerging trends, and contribute to internal knowledge sharing and best practice documentation.
• Manage project setup and administrative tasks, including preparing contracts, supporting internal reporting, and following compliance procedures to ensure smooth project delivery.
• This is a hybrid position. In-office requirements will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

You will bring solid professional experience and a strong curiosity about the payments industry, eager to deepen your expertise by working with an experienced team. You are client-focused, comfortable managing projects or workstreams from planning through execution, and enjoy collaborating closely with clients to support their business goals.

Specific skills and experience required:

Fluent Japanese and business-level proficiency in English

7+ years of relevant experience in strategy consulting, product management, or project management

Demonstrated experience managing or supporting complex, cross-functional projects

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and intellectual rigor

Effective team player with a collaborative, diplomatic, and adaptable approach. Able to work well in a matrixed organization

High standard for quality in reports and data analysis

Strong oral and written communication skills, including clear and professional presentations

Self-motivated and results-driven. Able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and deadlines

Flexible mindset with resilience. Able to adapt to changing circumstances and client needs

Commercial awareness, with experience supporting business case development and understanding of project ROI

Interest in analytics and its role in informing strategy and business decisions. Able to generate actionable insights from data

Willingness to consult with and report to senior team members to ensure alignment and quality outcomes

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in the payments, including issuing and acquiring businesses. Understanding of banking or technology sectors is also a plus

Experience in business planning, product development, service design and marketing within the B2C industry

PMP certification or experience in technical project management

Familiarity with statistical analysis, modeling, or scoring methods
